Elephant plains lodge uses solar energy for lighting and other activities within the lodge; helps to reduce on the effect of the light on the surrounding during the night. The rooftops of elephant plains lodge are thatched with grass from savannah grass land within Queen Elizabeth national park. Also the walls of elephant plains lodge where build using granite rocks from river mubuku. All this, makes the lodge blend well into the natural environment with in the protected area (staged authenticity).

The lodge is located next to Kikorongo River; where the plains meet with crystal water of the river. When at elephant plains lodge you can see a number of buffaloes and elephants come to drink water from the river. From elephant plains lodges it is a short drive to kasenyi plains also a breeding ground for Uganda kobs; their presence have attracted the big cats like lions and leopards among others. Elephant plains lodge has 6 spacious double or twin en-suite cottages with very large verandas. The windows have huge glass; you can relax on the splendid view from inside your room. Elephant plains lodge has two family cottages that offer accommodation from two separate rooms. The space of the family cottages can accommodate number of 5 people. The rooms have hug bath tubs and shower rooms are overlooking the park; you can enjoy your bath with a glass of your favorite wine and relaxing back as you enjoy the scenery of Queen Elizabeth national park.
The lodge’s rooms all face the splendid kikorongo lake and when on the terrace, you can see wild animals, like elephants, drinking water from the lake. The hotel has comfortable sofas where you can seat in the evening and sip on your wine or a vodka. The lounge also has intimate corner where you can sit with your friend and have a good evening talk along with some drinks until the dusk drops.
The food and beverage section of elephant plains lodge will set your appetite on a right track.
