Ishwa Game Lodge is a 3-star mid-range accommodation found in the Kichwamba area of the Rubirizi district, bordering Queen Elizabeth National Park in Western Uganda. The lodge serves as the perfect base, offering stunning views of the park and the surrounding landscape.

 How to get there:

It takes approximately 5-6 hours (370 km) to drive from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth national park tand 32km to be transferred to the lodge. The lodge is located 29 miles from Kihihi airstrip and a few miles away from Kasese airstrip as well.

About the lodge.

Ishwa Game Lodge consists of 4 spacious and comfortable en suite cottages that overlook the beautiful views of the park, are built in traditional African style with grass thatched roofs, and provide a high level of comfort.

Each cottage is well-furnished and elevated to meet guests’ personal preferences, featuring mosquito nets, a bathroom with hot and cold showers, flushing toilets, free toiletries, chairs and wooden tables, flat-screen TVs with DSTV, complimentary bottled water, slippers in the rooms, and many more amenities.

– Each cottage has large sitting areas and a veranda that give a panoramic view of the park, the Rwenzori Mountain ranges and surrounding areas.

– The cottages have excellent and comfortable bedding with king-sized beds.  They vary in sizes with  Singles beds for individuals and  double beds/twins for sharing  and family/group rooms.

– There is a campfire pit where fire glows; guests relax as they share stories/experiences about the safari, and it also provides warmth during cold periods.

Services offered at the lodge include

A dining area overlooking the park serving different  mouth -watering meal to meet visitors’ choices of both local and international cuisine (ala carte menu). They offer breakfasts, Picnic lunch and dinners served by well-trained and organized staff. They offer bush breakfasts while enjoying the morning sunrises and bush dinners overlooking the stars in the sky.

A well-stocked bar offers both hard and soft drinks, including beers, wines, and sodas, allowing you to sip any drink of your choice while enjoying the stunning view of Queen Elizabeth National Park, Rwenzori Ranges, and surrounding areas.

Services;  Laundry and house- keeping  services available at the camp; Ample parking space is offered for pickups and drop-offs ,solar energy available, Excellent and comfortable clean bedding, among many more.

ABOUT the park

Queen Elizabeth National Park is the second largest and most visited national park in western Uganda, located near the historical town of Fort Portal (Tourism City) in the districts of Kasese, Kamwengye, Rubirizi,  and Rukungiri.

The park occupies a total  area of 987 km squared. The park extends from Lake George  in the northeast to Lake Edward in the southwest and includes the Kazinga Channel connecting the two lakes. It’s the wide channel in Uganda, 32 kilometers long.

The park has a variety of flora and fauna over 100 mammals and 612 species of birds, which attract more tourists. The park has different categories of accommodations that include Budget , Moderate or Luxury hotels/lodges that are suitable for each traveler/tourist.

Activities in the park include

– Game viewing: you spot different animals in the park like buffaloes, antelopes, elephants, leopards, impalas, antelopes, and zebras many in kasenyi sector and   tree climbing lions in ishasha sector.

– Boat cruise at Kazinga Channel that enables visitors to spot aquatic animals like Hippos, Crocodiles etc.
