Kalinzu Eco Lodge is a newly built mid-range accommodation found in the landscape of Kalinzu central forest reserve, lying close to Queen Elizabeth national park in western Uganda. The lodge is situated 30 minutes away from Queen Elizabeth National Park, in a forest well known for chimpanzee tracking, making it perfect for safari adventure and luxury leisure for tourists visiting the park.
How to get there
The drive from Kampala to Queen Elizabeth National Park takes approximately 5-6 hours (370 km), followed by a 30-minute transfer to the lodge. You can also fly from Entebbe international airport to kasese airstrip using a domestic flight.
About the lodge.
Kalinzu Eco lodge is comprised of 20 spacious and comfortable en suite rooms overlooking the beautiful views of the forest, built in traditional African style with a high level of comfort.
– Each cottage is well-furnished and elevated to meet guests’ personal preferences, featuring mosquito nets, bathrooms with hot and cold showers, flushing toilets, free toiletries, chairs and wooden tables, flat-screen TVs with DSTV, complimentary bottled water, slippers in the rooms, and many more amenities.
– Each cottage has large sitting areas and a veranda that give a panoramic view of the forest, the Rwenzori Mountain ranges and surrounding areas.
– The cottages have excellent and comfortable bedding with king-sized beds that vary in sizes with Singles beds for individuals and double beds/twins for sharing and family/group rooms.
– There is a campfire pit where fire glows; guests relax as they share stories/experiences about the safari, and it also provides warmth during cold periods.

The lodge offers a dining area that overlooks the forest, serving a variety of mouthwatering meals that cater to visitors’ preferences for both local and international cuisine, all from an à la carte menu. Well-trained and organized staff serve breakfasts, picnic lunches, and dinners at the lodge. They offer bush breakfasts while enjoying the morning sunrises and bush dinners overlooking the stars in the sky.
A well-stocked bar with both hard and soft drinks that includes beers, wines,sodas etc, you sip any drink of your choice while enjoying the stunning view of the forest and surrounding areas
A blue water swimming pool cools off the hot afternoon, allowing you to relax in the water while taking in the stunning landscape.

ABOUT the park
Queen Elizabeth National Park is the second largest and most visited national park in western Uganda, located near the historical town of Fort Portal (Tourism City) in the districts of Kasese, Kamwengye, Rubirizi, and Rukungiri.
The park occupies a total area of 987 km squared. The park extends from Lake George in the northeast to Lake Edward in the southwest and includes the Kazinga Channel connecting the two lakes. It’s the wide channel in Uganda, 32 kilometers long.
The park has a variety of flora and fauna over 100 mammals and 612 species of birds, which attract more tourists. The park has different categories of accommodations that include Budget , Moderate or Luxury hotels/lodges that are suitable for each traveler/tourist.
Activities in the park include
– Game viewing: you can spot various animals in the park, such as buffaloes, antelopes, elephants, leopards, impalas, and zebras in the Kasenyi sector, as well as tree-climbing lions in the Ishasha sector.
– Boat cruise at Kazinga Channel that enables visitors to spot aquatic animals like Hippos, Crocodiles etc.
