Location of Queen Elizabeth National Park is approximately 410 kilometers from Kampala the capital city. Your entry point will be Entebbe airport however and it is 46 kilometers from Kampala. It can be accessed by 3 routes depending on where you are coming from; driving from Kampala, Queen Elizabeth national park can be accessed through Mbarara – Masaka highway and the drive takes approximately 6 hours depending on road conditions and amount of time spent on stopovers.

The drive takes you through a surface road and there are several optional stopovers including Mpambire drum makers, the equator at Kayabwe, Lake Mburo national Park, and tea plantations among others. A lunch stopover in Mbarara town is always part of the itinerary. The park can also be accessed by driving from Kampala through Mityana town, Fort portal and Kasese using a surface road as well. The drive takes about 6 hours as well and there a number of optional activities along the journey including coffee tour and the crater lakes in Fort portal. When using this route, a stopover for lunch in Fort portal town is always part of the journey.

For those in Bwindi, Queen Elizabeth national park can be accessed through the Ishasha sector with about 7 to 8 hours of driving from southern Bwindi. Getting to the location of Queen Elizabeth national park by air, you can charter to any of the available airstrips; Mweya, Ishasha or Kasese. Alternatively, Aerolink operates daily scheduled domestic flights from Entebbe to Mweya and Kasese airstrips. From there, you connect with your chauffeur and transfer to your lodge or carry on with your planned activities in Queen Elizabeth national park.
