2 Days Nyungwe National Park Tour
The 2 days Nyungwe National Park tour is an interesting short safari that starts and ends in Kigali Rwanda. The safari will take you to Nyungwe Forest National Park where you will be able to spend time with the endangered chimpanzees during chimpanzee trekking experience. During the 2 days Nyungwe National Park tour, you will also engage in a city tour in Kigali and a canopy walk tour where you will enjoy aerial views of the park, and views of different primate species, and birds among others.

Detailed Itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Nyungwe Forest National Park
Depending on your location on the first day of the 2 days Nyungwe National Park tour, the driver guide from Achieve Global Safaris will pick you up from your hotel or airport, brief you about the safari and then go for a short city tour in Kigali where you will visit the art centers, Kimironko market, Kigali genocide memorial center among others. After the city tour, you will start the journey to Nyungwe Forest National Park with a stopover at the former Kings Palace and another stopover for en-route lunch.
After lunch, you will proceed to Nyungwe National Park, and upon arrival, you will go for an adventurous canopy walk which starts from the Uwinka visitors center and is accessed from the Igishigishi trail. The canopy walkway is 160 meters long and 70 meters high from the ground. During the canopy walk which takes about 2 hours, you will enjoy stunning aerial views of the forest, tree tops, view different birds, and primates among others. After the canopy walk, you will drive back to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and departure to Kigali
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 2 days Nyungwe National Park tour, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to the park headquarters for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the forest in search of the chimpanzees which takes about 2 to 5 hours drive. During trekking, you will be able to view other primates, plant and tree species, and birds among others and once the chimpanzees are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat where you will be able to learn about their behaviors, watch them carry out their daily activities, take photos, record videos among others.
After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide and start the journey back to Kigali with en-route lunch and great views of the rolling hills, beautiful scenery, landscape, traditional homesteads on the way. Upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Kigali International Airport for your departure flight or drop you off at any place of advice.
