This 5 days Uganda Gorilla and Chimpanzee tracking safari includes chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest National Park and gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. The safari begins in Kampala and concludes at Kampala/Entebbe International Airport. Both Kibale National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable National Park are renowned for their primates, offering Chimpanzee trekking and habituation in Kibale, while Gorilla trekking and habituation occur in Bwindi.

 Detailed Itinerary

Day 1: Transfer to Kibale National Park

A company representative will pick you up, and then you will drive to Kibale National Park, which takes 5-6 hours, with lunch en route in Fort Portal before proceeding to Kibale and arriving late in the evening. Dinner and overnight stay.

 Accommodations include Chimpundu Lodge, Primates Lodge, Ndali Lodge (luxury), Chimpanzee National Park, Kibale Tourist Safari Lodge (mid-range), Kibale Forest Lodge, and Kibale Forest Camp (budget), among others.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking—Kibale forest

Take an early morning breakfast and go for a briefing at the headquarters and start chimpanzee trekking. Kibale Forest National Park is one of the best safari destinations in Africa for chimpanzee tracking. Kibale’s 795 km² National Park contains one of the most beautiful and varied tracts of tropical forest in the whole of Uganda.

This park is home to a variety of forest wildlife, particularly 13 species of primates, including chimpanzees. After trekking, you will have lunch and then visit Bigodi wetland, where you will experience a lot of bird life and unspoiled nature! Later transfer back to the lodge for Dinner and overnight at the above lodge.

 Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi National Park
You will have a morning breakfast and be transferred to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park with lunch en route, arriving in the evening. Check in, unwind, dinner, and overnight at your lodge

Day 4: Accommodations: 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After an early morning breakfast, you will depart with your packed lunch and proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing and gorilla trekking in the forest! Gorilla trekking can take 1–4 hours, depending on the movements of the gorillas. On finding them, you will take pictures and have time with them

The time remaining after visiting the gorillas can either be spent relaxing and remembering the trek or hiking in the foothills and visiting local communities. Dinner and overnight as above

Day 5: Return to Kampala.

Enjoy breakfast before embarking on your journey back to Kampala, which includes an en-route lunch in Mbarara City, a stopover at the equator for photographs, and finally a drop-off at your hotel or Entebbe International Airport for your onward flight.
