6 Days Uganda Gorilla Tracking and Wildlife safari

This 6 Days Uganda Gorilla Tracking and Wildlife safari will start and end in Kampala, the Capital of Uganda. Activities involved include; Primates , chimpanzee tracking in Kibale national park, gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the home of more endangered mountain gorillas. Bwindi is home to over 340 mountain gorillas, with four main groups of mountain gorillas to be trekked.

This national park also has many other species of primates, including the chimpanzees, monkeys among others. The same tour takes you to Queen Elizabeth National Park, which was named after Queen Elizabeth II and it’s famous for its Kazinga channel which connects Lakes; George and Edward and it’s filled with many wildlife species including the hippos, crocodiles, buffaloes and many bird species. The other animal species found in the park include; the elephants, tree climbing lions in the Ishasha sector, kobs, antelopes, waterbucks, warthogs etc.

It has got a big population of Zebras, impalas, giraffes, kobs, antelopes, birds, etc.

Detailed Itinerary

DAY 1: Transfer to KIBALE NATIONAL PARK and Bigodi swamp ;

Depending on you arrival time at Entebbe international airport on the first day of the safari, you will be welcomed by your guide who will transfer you from Entebbe or Kampala to Kibale Forest via mubende – Fort-portal overlooking the great views, farm lands where you will get a chance to see the terraced tea estates and community villages; you will have lunch en-route in Fort portal then proceed for nature tour. When you arrive at the park continue and go for a visit to the beautiful crater lakes area and go for 2 hour nature walk in Bigodi swamp as you experience different birds and primates, then Later continue to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 2: chimpanzee trekking to Kibale forest national park & Transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park

After breakfast on an early morning, you will meet with the driver guide, he will transfer you to the park headquarters at Kanyanchu for a chimpanzee trekking briefing. After briefing, at around 8:00am you will start chimpanzee trekking through this rain-forest as you will be guided by the park rangers in search of the habituated chimpanzee family. You will be allowed to spend an hour with the primates in their natural habitats which give an opportunity to observe their behaviors, habits, take pictures and record the great moments.

It is always a thrilling and unforgettable experience meeting chimpanzees face to face and watching them engage in their daily activities which includes playing, jumping, feeding etc. Also other animals can be spotted such as the grey-cheeked mangabeys, L’Hoest’s, baboons, monkeys, and also different birds.’ Later return to the lodge for relaxation, dinner and overnight stay

After trekking, have lunch then transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park, taking 2-3 hour drive with en route stopovers at the Equator. Check in your booked lodge for relaxation and overnight stay. Day 3: Game drive and an afternoon boat cruise

Early served breakfast to start your morning game drive so early, so this will require you to be up very early, with this you will be able to see very many animals along the Kasenyi track, you will also be able to view different animals such as elephants, antelopes, water bucks, buffaloes, lions, kobs among others.

After the game drive, head back to the lodge have lunch as you prepare for the afternoon boat cruise

You will have a great time cruising along the Kazinga channel and getting a chance to view Aquatic birds such as the saddle billed stork, pink backed pelicans, the malachite kingfishers and animals such as Crocodiles, elephants, hippos, buffaloes, feeding along the channel that will take 2-3 hours. Later in the evening, head back to the Lodge, have dinner, and spend the night.

Early in the morning after breakfast, set off for a long drive but very interesting with a lot of beautiful attractions along the way, While on your way via ishasha sector you will spot tree climbing lion , Enjoy an en route lunch as you proceed to the Bwindi impenetrable national park, you will be able to check in you booked lodge have your dinner and overnight sleep.

Day 5: Gorilla trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

Gorilla trekking: Imagine what this feels like getting closer to the endangered mountain gorilla with your loved one. early morning breakfast, you will be driven to the pack headquarters, have briefing, hire porters and set off to trek mountain gorillas in the wilderness of Bwindi Impenetrable National Park. You will spend a full hour watching the gorillas, the experience allows 4 hours with gorillas in their natural habitats. After trekking gorillas, you will return to your lodge, freshen up and have some rest as you wait dinner.

Day 6: Departure back to Kampala

Have your breakfast and set off for Kampala, you will go via Kabale where you will have great and beautiful scenery along the way due to the beautiful vegetation. Have your lunch in Mbarara and continue to Kampala where you will arrive in the evening
