This 5 days chimpanzee trekking and wildlife safari is an exciting safari that will take you to kibale forest national park also known as the primate capital where you will be able to spend one hour with the chimpanzees. The safari will also take you to the savannah national parks that is Queen Elizabeth national park and Lake Mburo national park where you will be able to view different animals like lions, elephants, zebras, giraffes, buffaloes, waterbucks, topi, oribi, leopards, bushbucks, warthogs, Uganda kobs among others during the boat cruise and game drives.

Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale forest national park

Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Kibale national park
Depending on your location on the first day of the 5 days chimpanzee trekking and wildlife safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Kibale national park. The journey takes about 5 to 6 hours drive and on the way you will have en-route lunch and enjoy spectacular views of the local people, farmlands, traditional homesteads, Rwenzori Mountains, tea plantations with stopovers to take photos and stretch your legs. Upon arrival in Kibale national park you will continue to the lodge, check in for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Chimpanzee trekking and transfer to Queen Elizabeth national park
Chimpanzee trekking,
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 5 days chimpanzee trekking and wildlife safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kanyachu Visitors Centre for a briefing about the rules, regulations and expectations of chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing, you will be allocated a chimpanzee family to trek and start hiking in the forest which takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on their location because they like to move from one place to another in search of food. Once the chimpanzees are located, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their natural habitat which gives you an opportunity to learn more about their life style, behaviours, watch them feed, enjoy the juveniles playing up in the trees, take photos and record videos with a flash less camera. After the one hour with the chimpanzees, you will trek back to the park headquarters where you will meet up with your driver guide and return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will check out of the lodge and start the journey to Queen Elizabeth national park which is the second largest national park in Uganda. On the way you will enjoy spectacular views of the Rwenzori Mountains, Lake George, tea plantations among others. Upon arrival in the park you will check into the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive/ lion tracking experience and afternoon boat cruise
On the third day of the 5 days chimpanzee trekking and wildlife safari, you will enjoy an early breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive where you will be able to view different animals like buffaloes, lions, leopards, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, bushbucks, waterbucks, different bird species among others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will go for an exciting boat cruise along Kazinga channel a water channel that joins Lake Edward and Lake Gorge. During the boat cruise which takes about 2 hours you will enjoy stunning views of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, view elephants, buffaloes, warthogs along the shores, water birds like hornbills, kingfishers, bee-eaters, fish eagles among others. After the boat cruise you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Game drive in Ishasha sector and transfer to Lake Mburo national park
After an early breakfast on the fourth day of the 5 days chimpanzee trekking and wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a game drive in Ishasha sector where you will be able to view the tree climbing lions which will be lying up in acacia/ fig tree branches, other animals like buffaloes, elephants, Uganda kobs, topi, warthogs, waterbucks among others. After the game drive you will drive, you will have en-route lunch and transfer to Lake Mburo national park. Upon arrival, you will connect to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Morning game drive and departure to Kampala
After an early breakfast on the last day of the 5 days chimpanzee trekking and wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your guide to go for a morning game drive in the park where you will be able to view various wildlife species including zebras, warthogs, topi, waterbucks, impala, giraffes, buffaloes, oribi among others.
After the game drive you will drive out of the park and start the journey back to Kampala with en-route lunch at the Equator where after you will continue the journey to Kampala arriving early evening and upon arrival your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of advise.
