Detailed itinerary
Day 1: Pick up and transfer to Lake Mburo national park,
Depending on your location on the first day of the 5 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, you will be welcomed by our driver guide who will brief you about the safari and then start the journey to Lake Mburo national park which is the smallest protected area located in western Uganda. On the way you will have a stopover at the Equator to buy souvenirs, take photos and then continue the journey to the park where you will check into the lodge and have lunch.
After lunch you will go for an interesting boat cruise on Lake Mburo where you will be able to view hippos in water, Nile crocodiles basking on the banks, animals like buffaloes, warthogs, antelopes drinking water along the shores, view water birds, fishermen who will be organizing their fishing gears for night fishing among others. After the boat ride, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Morning game drive and transfer to Ishasha sector-Queen Elizabeth national park
After an early breakfast on the second day of the 5 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, you will meet up with your driver guide to go for a morning game drive in the park where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, zebras, impalas, elands, topi, warthogs, waterbucks, giraffes among others grazing in the open savannah plains.
After the game drive you will drive out of the park to Ishasha sector in the southern part of Queen Elizabeth national park with en-route lunch on the way. Upon arrival in the park, you will go for an evening game drive where you will be able to view the tree climbing lions if you are lucky, view other animals like elephants, buffaloes, Uganda kobs, topi among others. After the evening game drive, you will drive to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise in Queen Elizabeth national park,
On the third day of the 5 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, you will enjoy breakfast, check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to go for a short game drive where you will be able to view some of the animals that you might have missed the previous day. After the game drive you will transfer to the northern part of Queen Elizabeth national park and upon arrival, you will check into the lodge for lunch.
After lunch you will go for an exciting boat cruise along Kazinga channel a water channel that joins Lake Edward and Lake Gorge. During the boat cruise which takes about 2 hours you will have stunning views of hippos and Nile crocodiles in water, view elephants, buffaloes, warthogs along the shores, water birds like hornbills, kingfishers, bee-eaters, fish eagles among others. After the boat cruise you will return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Chimpanzee trekking and afternoon game drive
After an early breakfast on the fourth day of the 5 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, your driver guide will pick you up from the lodge to transfer to Kyambura gorge for a briefing about chimpanzee trekking. After the briefing, you will start trekking in the jungle in search of chimpanzees which takes about 30 minutes to 4 hours depending on where the chimpanzees slept the previous night. Once the chimpanzees are found, you will be able to spend one hour with them in their habitat where you will be able to observe their behaviours, watch them feed, play, fight, hunt, rest, take photos and record the incredible moments with a flash less camera. After the one hour with the chimpanzees you will trek back to the starting point where you will meet up with your driver guide and drive back to the lodge for lunch.
After lunch, you will go for an afternoon game drive in Kasenyi plains where you will be able to view animals like buffaloes, lions, leopards, elephants, Uganda kobs, warthogs, bushbucks, waterbucks, different bird species among others. After the game drive you will return to the lodge for an evening relaxation, dinner and overnight.
Day 5: Departure to Kampala
After a relaxed breakfast on the last day of the 5 days Lake Mburo and Queen Elizabeth wildlife safari, you will check out of the lodge and meet up with your driver guide to transfer to Kampala. On the way you will have en-route lunch and upon arrival, your driver guide will drop you off at Entebbe international airport for your departure flight or drop off at any place of convenience.
