IRUNGU FOREST SAFARI LODGE – QUEEN ELIZABETH NATIONAL PARK
Irungu Forest safari lodge is a 3 star mid -range accommodation situated in Kasese in the Middle of queen Elizabeth national park western Uganda bordering Kazinga Channel, close to Katunguru primary school and 10 minutes’ drive from Kyambura game reserve. The lodge is located in an excellent base for safari adventure and relaxation for tourists, travellers and holiday makers who want to explore the park with its beautiful views, unmatched sounds of Uganda’s’ wildlife and surrounding areas. One can be at the hotel by road taking approximately 5-6 hours (370km) drive from Kampala city to queen Elizabeth national park then 45 minutes flight from Entebbe international airport /kajjansi airstrip to close kasese airstrip and few minutes to be transferred.
Irungu Forest safari lodge is comprised of 9 spacious and comfortable well designed cottages with the View of The wlderness built in African traditional style with grass thatched roofs , local woods and high level of Comfort . Cottages are well furnished and elevated to meet guest’s personal fondness with mosquito nets, bathroom hot and cold showers, flushing toilets, free bottled water, extinguishers , free toiletries, chairs and wooden tables, free bottled water, slippers to mention but a few.
Each cottage has sitting areas, terraces and large veranda that give a panoramic view of the park, animals roaming around the lodge since it’s not fenced and surrounding areas. Each Cottage has excellent and comfortable queen sized bed with cleaning beddings. There are campfire pit where fire glows, guests relax as they share stories/ experiences about the safari, it also provides warmth during cold periods. The lodge offers Singles beds for individuals and double beds/ twins and family rooming options with different costs ranging from 200$ and above per night per person, during peak season it goes slightly high than in low season .

Queen Elizabeth national park is the second largest and most visited national park found in western Uganda near historical town of Fort portal (Tourism city) in districts of Kasese, Kamwengye, Rubirizi and Rukungiri. The park occupies the total area of 987 km squared .The park extends from Lake George in the north-east to Lake Edward in the south-westand includes the Kazinga Channel connecting the two lakes. It’s the wide channel in Uganda with 32 kilometers long. There are different accommodations in Queen Elizabeth national park; budget ,mid range and luxury accommodations.
The park has the variety of flora and fauna over 100 mammals and 612 species of bird which attract more tourists.
