This 5 day chimp trekking and wildlife safari offers chimpanzee trekking in Kyambura gorge as well wildlife safari in queen Elizabeth national park
Day 1: Arrival and transfer to hotel
On arrival at Entebbe International Airport, you will then meet our company representative/guide and transfer to hotel where you will relax, have dinner and an overnight stay at Sheraton/Protea hotel (Luxury)/ forest cottage (Mid range and Budget) Half Board.
Day 2: Transfer to Queen Elizabeth National Park
Wake up early, have breakfast then meet your guide/driver. Then embank on a long trip to Queen Elizabeth National park about 6 hours drive from kampala. The park is located in western Uganda in the districts of Kasese. En route at Mbarara town for Lunch at Igongo cultural center, then proceed to the Queen Elizabeth park arriving late in the evening. Dinner and Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Park View lodge/ Enganzi Lodge (midrange)
Day 3: Morning game drive and Afternoon game drive and afternoon boat cruise
Have early morning breakfast at your lodge, you will proceed for a game drive in search of animals, expect to meet animals like buffalos, waterbucks, leopards, elephants, giraffes, Jackson’s heart beasts, oribis, warthogs and other species of animals at the delta. Return later to the lodge for lunch and freshening and prepare for an afternoon activity. In the afternoon, head for a boat cruise on kazinga channel in persuit of wildlife and bird species. Dinner and Overnight stay at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Park View lodge/ Enganzi Lodge (midrange)
Day 4: Chimpanzee tracking and Afternoon boat cruise
After breakfast early in the morning, you will depart for Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge still in Queen Elizabeth national park with your tracking gears. During the tracking, you will slope down a gorge with sights of magical lush mature tropical forest, thriving below sea level supporting counts of chimpanzees. Hiking the gorge’s steep slopes in search of the chimps is challenging but eventually encountering them is gives a life time memory as you will find them rolling on tree branches, making pant hooting calls, also spot the black and white colobus monkeys and the olive baboons. The walk generally takes around 2‐5 hours. After lunch at the lodge, report for a boat trip at the kazinga channel which takes about 4 hours. You will get an opportunity to see a number of bird species, elephants and buffalos, hippos and crocodiles. Return and relax at Mweya Safari Lodge (Luxury), Park View lodge / Enganzi Lodge (Mid Range).
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala / Entebbe Airport
After a morning breakfast briefly drive through the game trails as you drive out of the park to embark on your return journey to Kampala. En route in Mbarara for lunch and briefly stop at the Equator. Retreat from that and continue to Kampala, refresh and proceed to the airport for your flight back home.
